Wednesday’s Chow – Butterscotch Bread

Butterscotch Bread


2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking powder

½ tsp. baking soda

¼ tsp salt

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup chopped walnuts

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup buttermilk

2 tablespoons melted butter



Grease bread pan. Preheat oven 350°F.

In a large bowl mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir in brown sugar and nuts. In a separate bowl, blend eggs, milk and melted butter.  Stir into dry ingredients just until moisten.  Pour batter in to greased loaf pan. Bake for 45-55 minutes.  Cool on rack.
